Luana Rent a Car’s displayed price includes insurance for bodily injury liability (unlimited per person), property damage liability (unlimited per accident), vehicle damage (unlimited per accident) and personal injury (¥30 million per person, while in the vehicle), plus the Anshin Pack, which waives the deductibles, waives the non-operation charge (NOC) and adds roadside assistance. Insurance and coverage limits included in the rate
If you (the renter and any driver declared at pick-up) cause damage to a third party or to us in an accident, you are liable for that damage. To cover that liability, the base rate includes insurance and coverage up to the following limits.

The Anshin Pack (deductible waiver, NOC waiver, roadside assistance)
The Anshin Pack bundles the waiver of the property-damage and vehicle deductibles, the waiver of the non-operation charge (NOC) and roadside assistance. You do not need to purchase it; it is included in the displayed price.
Non-operation charge (NOC)
When the car needs repair or cleaning because of an accident, theft, breakdown or soiling that is not our responsibility, the NOC is a contribution towards lost business during that period. Because the Anshin Pack is included as standard, you do not pay the amounts below. Damage to interior equipment, excessive sand or mud, smoking in the car and burn holes in seats are also subject to the NOC.

Roadside assistance
The Anshin Pack includes the following roadside assistance. If the rental car cannot be driven because of an accident, breakdown or other trouble, a service vehicle comes to the scene to tow the car or carry out about 30 minutes of emergency repair. Towing and emergency-repair costs are covered up to ¥150,000 per incident; work not covered and amounts above the limit are at your expense.

When coverage does not apply
None of the coverage applies in the following cases.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, or without a valid licence
- Failure to follow the required procedures after an accident, such as reporting to the police and to us (no police accident report)
- Not wearing a seat belt while driving
- Accidents caused by a driver not declared at pick-up, or by a driver who gave false details such as name, age or address
- Damage caused intentionally
- Settling privately with the other party without consulting us
- Driving off public roads, such as on beaches
- Accidents during use beyond the rental period without our agreement
- Damage to interior equipment, or breakdowns caused by operating error
- Punctures, tyre damage and lost wheel caps
- Other exclusions under the rental terms or the insurance policy, and gross negligence by the driver (speeding, ignoring traffic signals)
Charged at actual cost
- Puncture repair is at your expense; please have it repaired at a nearby petrol station or similar.
- A lost or water-damaged key is charged at actual cost.
- Filling with the wrong type of fuel is charged at a flat ¥100,000.
- If a pet was let out of its carrier, or hair or odour is left in the car, a special cleaning fee of ¥30,000 is charged.

What is NOC?
NOC stands for non-operation charge, a contribution towards lost business when the car needs repair or cleaning after an accident or soiling. It is ¥30,000 if the car can be driven back (¥80,000 for the premium class) and ¥50,000 if it cannot (¥100,000 premium), but because the Anshin Pack is included as standard, you do not pay it.
Are punctures covered?
No. Punctures, tyre damage and lost wheel caps are not covered. Puncture repair is at your expense; please have it repaired at a nearby petrol station or similar.
